Every shawl is one-of-a-kind. It will be a minimum of 2 years before we would even have a similar shawl again. But each time we have made these, the colors we choose are different and the undyed colors do vary a bit as well. The colors reflect the dynamic nature of their fibers, just like our hair. Animals age and fibers get lighter and the sun (or lack thereof) affects these fibers as well. The textures also vary a bit because even the spinning, while done at a mill, is still very much an extension of Deirdre’s hands. So will you be able to get this same shawl again? No. Just like a particular vintage wine, these scarves represent this point in time, our handwork, our animals, and cannot be reproduced.
Long Scarf

These Scarves are our finest collection to date. The colors of the undyed fibersbalanced against the rich, jewel-toned pallet of natural dyes really succeeded in achieving the luxurious, bold effect we were aiming for. The llama fiber is what elevates this yarn to the next level and our girls are shorn just once per year. They add a depth to the lustrous fiber blend that I describe as ‘softness’ for lack of better word but it is so much more than that.
These shawls and scarves have a beautiful weight which compliments their drape so well. This is one of our weaver’s absolute favorite fibers to weave.
