Jewelweed a.k.a. Gardener’s First Aid Soap!

This soap is a great gift for the gardener in your life! We harvested fresh jewelweed in flower here on our farm in September and then made both an infused tea and an infused oil with its flowers and stems and leaves. The combination of heat and time extracts as much of the active ingredients as possible from the jewelweed. We then make a 100% coconut oil soap which, together with the jewelweed extracts, works to strip off irritating oils like poison ivy after exposure. We always keep a bar of this in our potting shed at the farm because it’s a quick and simple solution in case we think we brushed against some plant-based irritant.
