Come escape to the farm for a day of learning about creating a fermentation indigo vat for dyeing. We typically use it to dye our wool locks before they are spun into yarn but this day we are going to have fun with fabric and explore the world of Shibori and its infinite range of patterns. Shibori, originally from Japan, uses folding techniques (like origami) to create wonderful patterns. We will begin by learning about creating this living, fermentation vat and how you can re-create it at home. Then we will start exploring with fabric. We will be supplying an array of fabric which can become scarves, table throws and more. You may also choose to bring a top, socks or other personal item if you wish (just email us for guidance). This is a really fun day of creativity, surrounded by the hum of farm life. It doesn’t get much better than this!
This workshop is suitable for adults or teenagers. We will take a brief lunch break; light refreshments will be provided but you might want to bring a sandwich or other.
